What this is

Hello!

I have many boxes of books and junk and comics and nonsense that have followed me round as I’ve moved from place to place, half of which haven’t been unpacked in years. Recently I was going through some of them and found a whole box of audio cassettes.

Most of them date back to when I used to listen to stuff on a Walkman in the early to mid 90s. The most recent are from a decade ago, when I worked in a Waterstones storeroom and used to copy stuff to tape to listen to on the knackered old boombox I had in there. Since then they all languished in a box (and a lot of others got thrown away or given to charity shops at some point). I don’t even have a proper way to listen to tapes these days (the tape deck on my stereo broke a long time ago and I never bothered getting it fixed).

A lot of them feel like weird little time capsules to me, often containing evidence of some of the terrible bands I liked as a teenager, and I thought it might be nice to give them a bit of a last hurrah and stick a sort of memorial to them online before they get binned or given away.

God knows if anyone else will be interested at all, but thanks for taking the time to read this.
